Concrete Paths Sydney
Clean, level pathways that improve access and add value to any Sydney property
A well-laid concrete path does more for a property than most owners expect — it improves accessibility, creates visual order in the garden, reduces mud tracking, and adds kerb appeal that shows up in property valuations. Unlike paving, gravel, or timber, concrete paths are permanent, weed-free, and require no maintenance beyond an occasional clean.
About Our Paths Service
A well-laid concrete path does more for a property than most owners expect — it improves accessibility, creates visual order in the garden, reduces mud tracking, and adds kerb appeal that shows up in property valuations. Unlike paving, gravel, or timber, concrete paths are permanent, weed-free, and require no maintenance beyond an occasional clean.
We install residential garden paths, side access pathways, front entry approaches, and council footpath crossovers (the section connecting your driveway to the kerb) across all of Sydney Metro. Every path is formed, poured, and finished to a consistent level with correct falls for drainage.
Path widths, thicknesses, and concrete grades are selected based on the intended use — a garden path is different from a council footpath or a wide commercial walkway. We advise on the right specification for your project during the free site quote.

Paths — Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from Sydney homeowners and builders.
How much does a concrete path cost in Sydney?
A standard residential concrete path in Sydney costs approximately $100–$130/m² all-in (including concrete, labour, and basic formwork). A typical 15m garden path (900mm wide) runs $1,500–$2,500 including GST. A full side access path (25m × 1.2m) is approximately $3,500–$5,000. Council crossovers start at around $1,200 for a standard size.
How thick should a concrete path be?
Garden paths: 75mm is typically sufficient for foot traffic only. Side access paths handling wheelbarrows, small machinery, or ride-on mowers: 100mm. Paths that vehicles may partially drive over: 100mm minimum with mesh reinforcement.
Do I need council approval for a concrete path?
Most residential garden paths and side access pathways fall under exempt development and don't require council approval. Council crossovers (connecting to the road reserve) do require a permit from your LGA. We can advise on your specific council's requirements and handle the crossover application process.
Can you match the colour of my existing concrete?
An exact colour match to weathered existing concrete is difficult due to natural variation in concrete aging. However, we can use integral pigment to get close, and freshly poured concrete will naturally blend visually after 6–12 months of weathering. For feature paths where a distinct look is desired, a contrasting colour can work better than trying to match.
How long after pouring can I walk on my new concrete path?
Light foot traffic is safe after 24–48 hours. Heavy foot traffic and furniture placement can occur after 7 days. The path reaches full structural strength at 28 days, though for residential paths this matters less than the surface durability.

Concrete Driveways Sydney
A properly laid concrete driveway is one of the highest-return upgrades you can make to a Sydney home. Unlike pavers, which shift and weed over time, or asphalt, which softens in summer heat, a concrete driveway is structural, permanent, and low-maintenance for decades.
Learn more →Coloured Concrete Sydney
Coloured concrete uses iron oxide pigments mixed through the concrete batch before it's poured. Unlike a surface paint or stain, the colour runs the full depth of the slab — it cannot peel, flake, or wear off because it's in the concrete itself. In Sydney's UV-intense climate, this makes it a far more durable aesthetic choice than any surface-applied colour treatment.
Learn more →Exposed Aggregate Concrete Sydney
Exposed aggregate is the most popular premium concrete finish in Sydney for good reason. By washing back the top layer of cement paste to reveal the stone aggregate beneath, you get a naturally textured surface that grips underfoot, hides minor marks and tyre rubber, and looks exceptional for decades with minimal maintenance.
Learn more →Concrete Slabs Sydney
A concrete slab is the foundation of nearly every Sydney construction project — from a backyard shed to a new house. Getting the slab right means getting the grade, reinforcement, thickness, and subgrade preparation correct from the start. Cut corners here and you're fixing cracks and movement for years.
