How accurate is this concrete price calculator?
The calculator uses Sydney Metro supplier rates benchmarked against Boral, Holcim, and Hanson (last reviewed August 2026). It prices the concrete, labour and reinforcement exactly, and shows site preparation, demolition and excavation as a range because those depend on what is under the ground. The final price is confirmed after a free site inspection.
Does the concrete price include GST?
Yes — the calculator shows both the subtotal excluding GST and the total including 10% GST. All quoted prices from Dominate Concrete include GST unless specifically stated otherwise.
What does a 40m² concrete driveway cost in Sydney?
A 40m² driveway with N25 concrete at 100mm, broom finish and SL72 mesh costs $8,100–$8,800 including GST in the metro zone on a level site. If 100–300mm of soil has to be dug out it rises to $10,350–$12,750, and replacing an old concrete driveway costs $11,300–$14,250, or $12,550–$16,450 with a cut as well. Distance from the CBD, pump hire and the finish you choose also change the price.
What concrete grade do I need for a driveway in Sydney?
N25 is the standard grade for residential concrete driveways in Sydney. It provides adequate strength for passenger vehicles and standard loads. N32 is recommended for driveways that carry heavy vehicles, trucks, or caravans. The calculator auto-suggests the right grade when you select your service type.
How thick should a concrete driveway be?
A standard residential driveway should be 100mm thick. Heavier-duty driveways (caravans, trucks) should be 125–150mm. Concrete paths are typically 75mm. The calculator defaults to the recommended thickness for each service type automatically.
Do I need a concrete pump in Sydney?
A concrete pump is required when the mixer truck cannot park within 4–5 metres of the pour area. This is common on sloped blocks, narrow driveways, and backyard jobs across Sydney. Pump hire adds $950–$1,450 to the job cost. We assess pump requirements during your free site inspection.
